My Norwegian Heritage

This is my first intel post here on Qassia, so please bear with me. I like the idea of pretending I'm sitting at the table and having a cup of coffee (or tea) and casual chat with you (the reader). Most people like movies and I'm no different, but every now and then one comes along that is especially enjoyable for whatever reasons. The movie I'm referring to had me chuckling and smiling, not only because it rang true to personal experience being from the upper midwest, but also because it included Norwegian (Scandinavian) style humor and personality. My maternal grandparents were from Norway and settled in North Dakota, where they continued farming. Though I spent a lot of time as a youngster on the farm, I lived in a very small town nearby. My hometown was full of characters that the movie reminded me of, even though it took place in Minnesota (right next door). I also lived in Minnesota when I was much older and have spent many winters in both states. Anyway, you are probably wondering what the name of the movie is, right? It's a fairly new release called "New in Town" and I highly recommend it for your viewing pleasure. It does not have a lot of action and excitement, nor does it have profanity, violence, or raunchy scenes. What it does have though, is wholesome entertainment with a decent storyline, about a Miami career gal who is sent to Minnesota in the wintertime. Hope you will enjoy it as much as I did.
